As the sun sets, the Town comes to life. It is a time when the string of lights around the Lake and neon signs are all switched on. Giant Burgers, the Grand Lake Theater, Art’s Crab Shack, and the Kwik-Way are just some of the businesses that provide Oakland with that hum and glow.
Dusk is also the time of day when folks file out of work and flood into Oakland's dive bars, taco trucks, and concert venues. The warehouses on the West side of town contain some of the best trailblazing music and art shows in the country (if only you could remember that address). Meanwhile, cargo ships keep gliding in and out of the port as the cranes stand guard. No matter what your style, dusk is just the beginning of the night.
