Roll - Bounce - Art - Skate
Town Park was created in 2007 by local artist and arts educator Keith “K-Dub” Williams with the help, love, and support from our local skateboard community at historic De Fremery Park in West Oakland. K-Dub and the City of Oakland worked to build a “skater built” dynamic wood structure skatepark for Oakland and Bay Area youth. The goal was to create a facility that would allow our youth to stay in their own community instead of traveling to neighboring city skateparks.
The site has become a destination park for many local youth and adults of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds, and has become a hub where everyone can come together to learn and showcase their skills. Town Park has hosted many amazing skateboard events, contests, and demos attracting large numbers of spectators and skaters, including pro skaters Karl Watson, Ron Allen, Corey Duffel, Walker Ryan, Theotis Beasley, and Lizard King.
The Oaklandish x Town Park line will showcase Oakland's skate culture and provide a source of pride for all its citizens. Proceeds will go to support our efforts as we build towards a permanent dynamic concrete skatepark for our youth and skate community.
