Since 1950, Children’s Fairyland has been delighting children and their parents with whimsical storybook sets, gentle rides, friendly animals, wonder-filled puppet shows, and inspired live entertainment. In 2010, Fairyland received an Oakland Innovator Award from Oaklandish, recognizing them for “trailblazing community work in the East Bay.” The award is meant to offer recognition and financial rewards to local programs that exemplify the values of innovation and progress in all areas of civic life, including arts, education, technology, and business. Fairyland exemplifies those values while being a vital community resource promoting childhood literacy, imagination, creativity, outdoor play, live performing arts, and free admission to low income families. On behalf of the imagination industry, sales of this "Fairylandish" shirt will help Fairyland be a place for children to make memories for another 60 years.
