Jack London square: Kitchen of Champions

Saturday, July 23rd in Jack London Square…

Over 40 of the Bay’s finest dining establishments will be heading over to Jack London square to compete in a night of old-school culinary bravado. This delicious smackdown begins at 4:30 and runs till 7:30.

The competition will be judged by culinary all-stars like Alice Waters, Robert Egger, and Sean Baker, Esquire‘s 2010 Chef of the Year. And they’re not afraid to get sassy.

A $40 ticket will get you all the snacks and beverages you can hold — along with a ringside view of the competition. Proceeds from the event will help St. Vincent de Paul train a new generation of kitchen heavyweights through their culinary training program, Kitchen of Champions.

The event is like a culinary tour of the East Bay mdash; all on one block. Here’s a list of just a few East Bay establishments providing eats and drinks:

Lois the Pie Queen
Grand Tavern
Xolo Taqueria
Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe
Trumer Pils
Home of Chicken & Waffles
Souley Vegan
