To Do October 2th-4th in Oakland

Welcome to October, Oakland!

As the leaves turn colors, acorns drop from oak trees and the weather starts to cool, we usher in autumn and all its glory.

This weekend, we have a number of events for the citizens of the Town.

First and foremost, IT’S FIRST FRIDAY! and we have the honor of hosting D’Wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Tone! at our HQ in downtown Oakland, where he and his band will be performing for free.

There’s a BIG Nigerian Independence Day Celebration going down at the New Parish tonight.

R&B superstar R. Kelly and Oakland’s own Keyshia Cole are performing at the Oracle tonight.

And if you’re looking for something really wild to get into, the Oakland Symphony is celebrating the start of the season tonight.

Saturday:

Oaktoberfest comes to the Fruitvale District! Which means plenty of beers and cheers!

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias comes to the Oracle; that should be a laughing riot!

Sunday:

The Raiders play! In Chicago, which means there will be a 10am start time for us. The Raiders are favored to win for the first time in a very long time. JUST WIN BABY!

These are just a few of the many things to do in Oakland this weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and be nice to each other.
