We get it all the time. Where do we get our designs? How do they end up on t-shirts, and do those shirts give anything back to the city that inspired them?
Our very talented friends at French Press Films helped us film a video that follows the journey of an Oaklandish tee, from the first sketch to the final product. Everything was, of course, made, filmed and edited in Oakland. We also owe the folks at Children’s Fairyland a big thank you for letting us run around the park for an afternoon, even though we’re grownups.
We’ve come a long way since our first round of wheatpaste posters in 2000. And we owe it all to the good people of Oakland, who keep us true to our roots, and prove that there’s more local love in the East Bay than we ever could have imagined. It’s the feeling we work everyday to share, and spread.
