Weekend Recap: Sept 25th-27th

It was the final weekend in September, and the first weekend of fall. The weather was perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. And it ended with a spectacular eclipse.

This weekend, Oakland hosted a ton of top tier musicians. The Oakland Music Festival brought acts like Anderson Paak, BJ The Chicago Kid and Goldlink. Local superstars such as Los Rakas and K00l John (and his Shmop Life crew) were in the building as well.

Bay Area Vibez, a two day festival, brought out the likes of Damian Marley and Nas out to West Oakland’s Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.

Grace Jones had show at The Fox and before the show, this photo was posted to her twitter account:

Out in East Oakland, Tim Hudson and Barry Zito squared off in a classic duel between the A’s and the Giants on Saturday afternoon. Both pitchers performed less than stellar. The Giants took the game, and the series (2-1) but the A’s knocked the Giants out of playoff contention.

It should be noted that the Warriors Klay Thompson threw out the first pitch; his pitch was reportedly faster than both Tim Hudson and Barry Zito’s.

The Raiders went to Cleveland, Ohio and beat the Browns 27-20. The score was closer than the game, as the Raiders dominated on both sides of the ball. Yes, that means the Raiders have won two games in a row!!!
